Finally, Aston’s
very own MUN!
Hello and welcome to the Aston University Model United Nations
Society. Our purpose is to encourage debate on international issues. We send delegates to conferences around the country,
including the London International MUN Conference and organise debates and talks here at Aston, Birmingham. Engaging in MUN
simulations of various UN bodies provides students with the unique opportunity to creatively learn about the workings of the
UN whilst discussing global issues by representing a country or non-governmental organization. Diverse topics such as international
law, human rights, the environment and economic and social development throw students into the world of diplomacy as their
negotiation skills are put to the test. Moreover, we present to you the opportunity to meet diplomats with a unique perspective
on world affairs, as well as to represent Aston at MUN conferences at England's best universities and perhaps throughout the
world
